Foreign companies to implement "green energy" project in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan

The Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy has said that Masdar, ACWA Power, Fortescue Future Industries operating in Azerbaijan are considering the possibility of implementing green energy projects in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The management of the Agency and representatives of these companies visited Nakhchivan, the Agency told Report.

A meeting was held with employees of the Agency.

The Agency informed the participants of the meeting about the common energy system and projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

It was underlined that Azerbaijan has a wide potential for the development of renewable energy sources. Moreover, discussions on the implementation of green energy projects were held.

The delegation visited a solar power plant in the Babak district.

Then a meeting was held with representatives of the State Service on Property Issues.

During the meeting, the issues of allotting territories for green energy projects were discussed.
