Gary Jones: bp to fully restore operations with BTC pipeline next week
Starting next week, bp will restore the full shipment of oil to world markets from the Ceyhan terminal, which was previously stopped due to minor damage on one of the oil piers.
According to Report, bp's regional president for Azerbaijan Gary Jones made the statement.
Following the strong earthquake on February 6, bp started inspecting all infrastructure in Türkiye, including the oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and the terminal in Ceyhan.
He said inspections showed no major damage.
"Export operations have not been suspended for this reason. The exported crude oil was collected in tanks located at Ceyhan port. Oil exports from these tanks are also continuing. The shipment will be fully resumed from next week. We will continue to negotiate with the Turkish government at this tragic time and continue to provide assistance," Jones said.
According to him, bp has committed $5 million to Türkiye's earthquake response: "Since the earthquake, bp has mobilised all its forces. First and foremost, the company has started supplying fuel to Türkiye."
"All our thoughts and prayers are with Türkiye," Jones stressed.
