Georgia, Türkiye, Azerbaijan unite for trilateral parliamentary cooperation
Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan have agreed to create a new trilateral cooperation format at the level of parliamentary speakers, marking a significant step in enhancing regional collaboration.
This agreement was finalized during a meeting between Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili and Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmus, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
During the meeting, Kurtulmus congratulated Papuashvili on his re-election as the chairman of the Georgian parliament, emphasizing that the will of the people must always be respected and that election results should form the foundation for future development. Both sides underscored the long-standing and fruitful partnership between Georgia and Türkiye, highlighting the strong friendship between their nations.
The discussion primarily focused on ways to further deepen parliamentary relations, leading to the agreement that a trilateral cooperation format among Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan will be established soon. This new framework is expected to strengthen ties and improve cooperation between the three countries in various areas.
In addition, Kurtulmus extended an invitation to Papuashvili to visit Türkiye, further solidifying the partnership between the two countries. The meeting was held as part of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
