Georgian government focuses on political stability to support business, PM says
The Georgian government is prioritising political stability and calm as essential conditions for business development, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a conference organised by the Business Association of Georgia (BAG).
The event, titled “Overview of the Georgian Economy: Macroeconomic and Sectoral Prospects,” brought together policymakers and business leaders to discuss the outlook for the country’s economy and its rapidly growing sectors, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
Speaking at the conference, Kobakhidze emphasised that the government is taking all necessary measures to ensure political stability and maintain calm, noting that significant steps had already been taken in recent years to this end.
He highlighted that opaque external funding had been used in the past to artificially fuel political polarisation in Georgia.
According to the prime minister, the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence has played a critical role in enhancing stability and reducing polarisation.
Kobakhidze noted that the legislation had limited the ability of radical forces to pursue their agenda by restricting non-transparent external funding.
