Georgian Military Road reopens for all types of transport

The passage of all types of transport on the Georgian Military Road has been enabled after the clearing of the roadbed on the territory of Georgia.

"In connection with the clearing of the roadbed on the territory of Georgia, the possibility of ensuring safe passage of motor vehicles, as well as taking into account the recommendations of the Border Police of Georgia, traffic is allowed for all types of motor vehicles on the section Vladikavkaz - Lars in both directions from 9:30 Moscow time on October 19, 2023, until a special order," Interfax reports, citing the press service of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia.

On the night of October 18 to 19, the Georgian Military Road was temporarily closed for the passage of heavy trucks due to weather conditions in the territory of Georgia.

The Georgian-Georgian Military Road is currently the only land route linking not only Georgia but also Armenia with Russia.
