Great Return: 30 families reestablish homes in Tazabina, Ballija, Azerbaijan’s Khojaly PHOTO / UPDATED
A new group of former internally displaced families has returned to the villages of Tazabina and Ballija in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly district, under the ongoing Great Return initiative.
A total of 30 families, comprising 123 individuals, have resettled in the two villages today. Of these, 72 people, representing 17 families, moved to Tazabina, while 51 individuals, or 13 families, settled in Ballija, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Including this latest phase, the resettlement effort has now seen 113 families (501 people) return to Tazabina and 228 families (1,016 people) reestablish themselves in Ballija.

On October 28, 17 displaced families, totalling 72 people, arrived in Tazabina village, Khojaly district, as part of the ongoing Great Return initiative.
The families had previously been living temporarily in various parts of the country, including dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Following the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the resettlement programme continues across territories liberated from occupation. Other groups of families were sent from Aghdam to the villages of Ballija, and Badara in Khojaly district.
Thus, 13 families (51 people) will be resettled in Ballija and 17 families (62 people) in Badara.
Alongside the newly resettled former internally displaced persons, more than 50,000 people currently reside in Karabakh and East Zangezur.
This includes individuals engaged in the region’s reconstruction projects and those serving in local branches of state institutions, as well as in healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy sectors that have resumed operations.
