Head of Armenian cargo carrier says Zangezur corridor should work

Gagik Aghajanyan, founder of APAVEN cargo transport company, said during an interview with the Armenian channel Hayastan News that the Zangezur corridor must operate, Caliber.Az reports.

"Let's start with the fact that there has always been transport communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. For 30 years they had a land connection through the territory of Iran," he said.

"From the start, for decades, I have been saying that regardless of anything, communications should work. Yes, I understand the political situation, relations, and war, but communications should be opened, and sooner or later they will be opened.

Another thing is that I agree with the Armenian authorities that all this should be controlled by the relevant bodies of Armenia, per the Armenian legislation. And in this sense, the availability of communications is positive for us in any case. You can call it Zangezur corridor, or you can call it something else. However, if all the conditions are met and remain under Armenian control, this road should be and should work," Aghajanyan said.
