Participants of the International Parliamentary Conference on “Parliamentarism: Traditions and Prospects” made a significant stop in the town of Khankendi during their visit to Karabakh.
The delegation began their tour at Victory Square in Khankendi, where they were greeted by Elchin Yusubov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan. Yusubov provided an insightful overview of the city, highlighting its historical and cultural significance, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The next destination was Karabakh University, an institution established by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on November 28, 2023. Rector Shahin Bayramov welcomed the delegation and elaborated on the university’s rapid development. He noted that a state-of-the-art educational infrastructure had been established in a short span of time, including major renovations of academic buildings and the installation of modern equipment in classrooms and administrative offices.
The guests toured the university’s facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, and the library, engaging with students and faculty to gain a deeper understanding of the institution's operations and achievements.
Following their visit to the university, the delegation proceeded to the town of Khojaly to continue their program in Karabakh.
To recall, on December 8, the flight carrying delegates landed at Fuzuli International Airport, marking the start of their tour.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive briefing at Fuzuli International Airport, where parliamentarians were given a detailed overview of the airport's demining efforts and the rapid progress made in restoring the area. The delegates were informed about the extensive work undertaken to clear the airport's territory of mines and to develop the necessary infrastructure for its reopening.
