Iran affirms readiness to strengthen energy cooperation with Azerbaijan
Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s commitment to deepening energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, highlighting significant opportunities for joint development within the energy sector and beyond.
Speaking during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev in Tehran, Aliabadi emphasized the robust cultural and social ties that bind the two nations, describing these longstanding connections as a solid foundation for expanding bilateral collaboration, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
Aliabadi drew attention to Iran’s extensive expertise in power plant construction and electricity transmission, noting that the country consistently commissions new energy facilities and stands ready to share its technical know-how with neighboring states.
Further advancing the agenda, Aliabadi proposed the establishment of a trilateral partnership encompassing Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia, underscoring the potential for such cooperation to generate mutual benefits across a range of strategic sectors.
Echoing these sentiments, Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev affirmed Iran’s strong technical and political capacity in electricity transmission and stated unequivocally that no obstacles exist to hinder collaborative efforts in this vital area.
