Iran’s president reaffirms commitment to friendly ties with Azerbaijan
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has defended his government’s approach to relations with neighbouring Azerbaijan, saying Tehran seeks brotherly and friendly ties with all its neighbours.
Responding to critics of closer cooperation with Baku, Pezeshkian said that while every country was sovereign within its own borders, Iran and its neighbours shared common resources such as land and water. He stressed that each nation was “master of its own home” but at the same time remained bound by ties of kinship and proximity, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian Telegram channel.
Pezeshkian underlined that Iran regarded Azerbaijan, along with its other neighbours, as relatives and close friends, emphasising the importance of maintaining good relations.
