Azerbaijan, China explore enhanced strategic cooperation
Azerbaijan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding strategic collaboration across multiple sectors, as Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Su Hui, vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting underscored the steady advancement of Azerbaijani-Chinese ties, attributed to the close political dialogue and coordinated efforts between President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The two leaders have cultivated a relationship built on mutual respect, friendship, and the principles of strategic partnership.
Highlighting recent diplomatic milestones, both sides pointed to the Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signed in April 2025, as a pivotal moment in bilateral relations. This agreement, officials noted, has ushered in a new era of cooperation, creating a solid foundation for broader engagement across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
Special emphasis was placed on President Aliyev’s recent working visit to China at the end of August and early September, which both parties described as a key moment in accelerating high-level dialogue and aligning their strategic visions. The visit was seen as instrumental in laying the groundwork for upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity, trade, and technological collaboration.
During the talks, Asadov and Su Hui exchanged views on the future trajectory of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations and explored opportunities in sectors such as infrastructure development, energy, logistics, education, and digital innovation. The sides expressed readiness to build upon existing achievements and pursue mutually beneficial projects that support regional integration and global economic resilience.
