Iran seizes classified Israeli documents in major intelligence operation
Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has announced the successful acquisition and transfer of a large volume of classified documents from Israel, describing the operation as a significant intelligence achievement.
In a statement released on June 10, the ministry described the operation as a “watershed moment” and a “historic” victory, highlighting the breach of Israeli security protocols and suggesting it undermines Israel’s perception of invulnerability, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
According to the statement, the documents were obtained through a sophisticated, multi-layered plan that bypassed what Iran described as Israel’s strictest security measures. The ministry also referred to recent arrests by Israeli authorities of settlers accused of collaborating with Iranian intelligence, suggesting these actions failed to prevent the breach.
Iran indicated that the seized documents cover a wide range of topics, including Israel’s nuclear and military programs, research projects, and profiles of officials and scientists. The ministry claimed that some information relates to Israel’s alleged nuclear activities and dual-use technologies, and includes details about foreign researchers involved in Israeli projects.
A portion of the documents, the ministry said, is already being utilised by Iran’s armed forces, while other parts may be shared with allied states or anti-Israel groups. Iran also announced plans to publish select documents publicly, with scientific and research materials to be distributed to relevant domestic institutions.
