Iran secures $500 million deal with Russia for 20 advanced helicopters
Iran has secured an agreement with Russia to purchase 20 civilian helicopters, equipped with night-vision systems.
Babak Mahmoudi, head of the Rescue and Relief Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) confirmed the deal, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
"The contract for the purchase of 20 helicopters, including four designed for firefighting, was prepared by the previous government. The agreement was finalized during President Masoud Pezeshkian's recent visit to Russia," Mahmoudi stated.
"As planned, 20 helicopters along with necessary components will be delivered, with a total value of approximately $500 million. Additionally, training sessions will be organized."
The helicopters are expected to enhance Iran’s capabilities in various sectors, including emergency response and firefighting efforts.
