Kremlin: Russia remains open to dialogue with Europe

Russia remains open to dialogue with European countries, despite political discussions in Europe not translating into concrete policy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated.

He said Moscow has heard growing debate among European politicians about resuming dialogue with Russia, but noted that such discussions have yet to result in practical steps, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

He added that Germany, in particular, has taken no concrete measures to restore ties with Moscow and stressed that Russia was not the party that initiated the breakdown in relations.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, there had been no recent contacts between Russian and U.S. officials at the Kremlin level, although technical engagement continues through diplomatic channels.

Peskov further stressed that Moscow would welcome a possible meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
