Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan sign agreement to approve joint list of scientific publications
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have formalised a partnership aimed at expanding scientific cooperation with the signing of an agreement to approve a joint list of scientific publications.
The agreement was signed between the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The Kazakh government shared details of the agreement, which will provide scientists from both nations with the opportunity to publish their work in joint scientific journals, as well as in the publications of both countries.
This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for scientific exchange and expand the reach of scholarly research across the two republics. Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, emphasised the long-term benefits of the agreement, particularly in expanding cooperation in areas like scientific grant assessments and research projects.
"The scientific community is relatively small, and it is crucial to have diversified viewpoints and expertise," Nurbek remarked, highlighting the importance of cross-border collaboration.
The agreement also sets the stage for further partnerships, with plans to sign additional bilateral agreements between leading universities in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, focusing on strengthening academic and research ties.
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov is currently on an official visit to Baku, where the agreement was signed, marking another step in the deepening relations between the two nations.
Bektanov visited the Heydar Aliyev Centre during his official trip to Azerbaijan and was briefed on the building, which is regarded as one of the unique masterpieces of global architecture.
During his visit, Bektanov explored several ongoing exhibitions, including those showcasing classic cars and musical instruments.
