Kazakhstan opens door wider to UAE market under new EAEU trade deal
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law ratifying the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its member states, on the one hand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the other, paving the way for expanded trade access for Kazakh goods in the UAE market.
The document was signed on July 8, 2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
The agreement, signed in Minsk on June 27, 2025, introduces preferential trade conditions, including the abolition of import customs duties on more than 85% of product categories.
Under the agreement, the UAE will provide preferential treatment for 6,757 tariff lines, representing 86% of the total product nomenclature.
Customs duties will be eliminated for 6,565 product categories, while another 192 categories will be covered by tariff quotas that allow duty-free imports from EAEU member states.
The agreement is expected to facilitate trade between the UAE and EAEU countries by reducing tariff barriers and creating more favorable conditions for exporters, including those from Kazakhstan.
