Officials from both countries met in Astana to explore ways of expanding collaboration in the nuclear industry. Discussions focused on the deployment of small modular reactors (SMRs), workforce training and the strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation.
Vasily Lavrenov, Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Atomic Energy Agency, said SMRs represent a promising area for bilateral cooperation.
