Kazakhstan urges enhanced cooperation with Central Asia, EAEU amid geopolitical shifts
In an address to the government, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the need for the country to elevate its level of cooperation with Central Asian nations and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The president also underscored the importance of closely monitoring the progress of major investment projects with key global partners, including Russia, China, the United States, and countries from the EU, the Middle East, and Asia, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He stressed that this strategic shift was essential for strengthening Kazakhstan's competitive position in the region amidst changing global dynamics.
Tokayev highlighted the importance of fostering deeper ties with Kazakhstan’s closest neighbours in industries such as transportation, logistics, agriculture, IT, and more.
He called on the government to formulate a comprehensive plan to develop mutually beneficial relationships, focusing on areas where Kazakhstan has significant potential for growth and collaboration.
"The current geopolitical realities demand that we move to a new level of cooperation with our neighbouring countries and regional partners, particularly in the Central Asian and EAEU frameworks. This will provide a competitive edge for both the region and Kazakhstan itself," Tokayev said during an expanded government meeting.
These initiatives are seen as crucial to bolstering Kazakhstan’s economic development and solidifying its position as a vital player in international trade and investment.
