Kremlin: Peace, health, prosperity main hopes for 2026
Peace, health, and prosperity are the main expectations for the coming year, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
Peskov noted that, like everyone else, he expects peace, success, prosperity, and health in 2026, stressing that nothing more is needed, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“We expect nothing else. Nothing else is needed,” the spokesperson concluded.
Following Kremlin spokesperson’s remarks about hopes for peace, health, and prosperity in 2026, a broader international context underscores how complex the prospects for peace are, especially regarding the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine war.
A recent state poll found a majority of Russians anticipate the war in Ukraine might end in 2026, signalling domestic expectation or hope for a shift in the long-running conflict’s trajectory.
Meanwhile, Kremlin officials have recently asserted that Ukraine must withdraw troops from parts of the Donbas as a precondition for progress toward peace, underscoring persistent diplomatic friction.
On the negotiation front, external mediators like the United States and European partners are actively pushing peace plans and security guarantees, even as both Kyiv and Moscow maintain sharp disagreements over terms and timing.
