Media: Iran reports foiling multiple plots during 12-day war with Israel Details revealed
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has claimed it thwarted a series of assassination plots, foreign infiltration attempts, and subversive activities during the recent escalation with Israel, described in an official statement titled “The Silent Battle with the Intelligence NATO in the 12-Day Imposed War.”
According to the ministry, Iranian intelligence services prevented efforts to assassinate 23 senior national officials during the 12-day war with Israel and foiled 13 similar plots in the months leading up to the escalation. In total, the ministry said it averted attempts targeting 35 civil and military officials, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
The statement also stated that a base housing 300 foreign militants was discovered near Iran’s southeastern border. The group was reportedly preparing to infiltrate Iranian territory, but “any of their movements” were successfully blocked, the ministry said.
Additionally, Iranian authorities accused Israel of trying to recruit and organise hundreds of fighters under the name “United Balochistan Front,” which the ministry referred to as a “fake group.” These activities are reportedly being monitored by Iranian intelligence.
The ministry further stated that during the June flare-up with Israel, its forces stopped at least 450 foreign fighters from entering the country. It also cited the identification of around 150 Takfiri elements based in Syria who were allegedly preparing for operations against Iran. Preventive measures were taken in response, the statement added.
