Media: Ukraine may have used “Lyutyi” drones in Syzran strike
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may have attacked the city of Syzran in Russia’s Samara region using large unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the “Lyutyi” model.
The “Lyutyi” drones are capable of flying more than 1,000 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing SHOT.
They have a wingspan of nearly 7 meters and a length of 4.4 metres.
During the strike on Syzran, the UAVs may have been launched from Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, according to sources.
They claim some of the drones continued flying toward the city.
The attack on Syzran became known on the night of April 22.
Ukrainian drones reportedly struck two residential buildings.
One of them caught fire, while an entrance section in the other partially collapsed.
Residents may be trapped under the rubble.
Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) released footage from the blast site.
