MFA slams burning of Azerbaijani, Turkish flags in Armenia PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Aykhan Hajizade has condemned the burning of the flags of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the Armenian capital.
“We strongly condemn the pre-planned and organised burning of flags of Azerbaijan and Türkiye at the Freedom Square in Yerevan during the torchlight procession. The Armenian government and [President] Nikol Pashinyan must take urgent measures to prevent such hate crimes and xenophobic acts,” Hajizade wrote on Twitter.
According to Caliber.Az, the march started from Republic Square and ended at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex on April 23. In the first minutes of the march participants burned the flags of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Armenia's provocative actions against the two fraternal countries have become more frequent lately. On April 14, at the opening ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championship held in Yerevan, the state flag of Azerbaijan was publicly burned.
