Moscow: UK reconnaissance aircraft violates Russia's airspace
A British aircraft of electronic intelligence and electronic warfare (EW) violated the Russian state border in the area of Cape Svyatoy Nos.
The Russian Defence ministry came up with this statement, TASS reports.
"The air defence forces discovered an unknown aerial target over the Barents Sea, heading towards the Russian Federation's state border. To prevent air defence forces from crossing the state border, a MiG-31BM fighter was raised, revealing it to be an RC-135 BBC Great Britain radio reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft," the report says.
The Russian authorities emphasised that the air target violated the Russian Federation's border in the area of Cape Svyatoy Nos. The actions of the Russian fighter crew forced the reconnaissance aircraft to leave Russian Federation territory.
