Number of tourists from China to Azerbaijan up
Head of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department at the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency Mahammad Muradov has reported that the number of tourists arriving from China to Azerbaijan during January-June 2024 reached 16,609, marking a 135 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
Muradov made these remarks at the conference “Demonstration zone of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation - Promoting Logistics and Trade in Azerbaijan” in Baku, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
He emphasised Azerbaijan's significant cooperation with the Far East in the tourism sector, highlighting the positive impact of the unilateral introduction of a one-year visa-free regime for Chinese citizens.
Muradov also expressed the country's commitment to participating in exhibitions and enhancing air services to further develop this collaboration.
Relations between Azerbaijan and China have strengthened significantly over the years, marked by robust cooperation across various domains.
