PM: Azerbaijan, Romania, Hungary actively working on green energy supplies to EU
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that Azerbaijan, Romania, and Hungary are actively working on a project to supply "green energy" from the Caucasus region to the EU.
Orban made these remarks during a joint press conference following his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He emphasised that the installation of an electrical cable along the bottom of the Black Sea will be one of the most successful projects being implemented within the EU.
On December 17, 2022, the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary signed an Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the Development and Transmission of Green Energy.
In Bucharest, the document was signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciucă, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attended the signing ceremony.
