Russia may ban diesel exports for producers, deputy PM says
Russia may introduce a ban on diesel fuel exports for producers if necessary, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has stated.
Talking to journalists on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he said Russia is maximising the utilisation of its export infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to him, as refineries return to normal operation, production will increase and reach previous levels.
Novak noted that several Russian oil refineries are currently undergoing unscheduled maintenance, but added that export infrastructure is being fully utilised.
He added that the government could consider restricting diesel exports for producers in the future if required.
Commenting on global markets, Novak stressed that they have not yet fully felt the impact of the energy crisis linked to the Middle East conflict, as they are still operating on fuel reserves.
