Russia's Lavrov to visit Türkiye for Anatolian Diplomatic Forum Talks with Turkish FM expected
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Turkey on March 1-2 to participate in a diplomatic forum in Antalya and hold talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Ministry’s Spokesperson Maria Zakharova made the announcement at a briefing on February 28, according to Lenta.ru.
"On the first or second of March, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will visit Türkiye to participate in the Anatolian Diplomatic Forum, negotiations between the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry and his Turkish counterpart are planned," she said.
According to Zakharova, Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart will discuss "a wide range of issues, primarily the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest."
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin's trip to Turkey would take place before the presidential election in Russia.
