Russia says air defences down nearly 400 Ukrainian drones in overnight attack
Russia's air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 389 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during a large-scale overnight attack, the Russian Defence Ministry said on July 4.
According to a statement published by the ministry, the drones were shot down between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on July 3 and 7:00 a.m. on July 4, Caliber.Az reports.
The ministry said the intercepted aircraft-type drones were destroyed over multiple regions across western and central Russia, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, and the Moscow region. Drones were also reportedly downed over Krasnodar Krai and the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
The ministry did not report casualties or damage resulting from the attacks.
