Russia works to expand consular presence in Azerbaijan and Armenia Foreign Ministry's statement

10 February 2024 12:15

Russia is working on expanding its consular presence in Azerbaijan and Armenia, which are friendly countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview with TASS.

"What makes diplomatic work in the CIS countries so special is, firstly, the friendship between the countries, linked by a centuries-old common history, deep mutual understanding, common culture and the Russian language. We have an exceptionally rich agenda covering a wide range of areas. Thousands of mutually beneficial projects, commitments in the sphere of defence and security, cultural dialogue, developed trade and economic relations and tourism contribute to the rapprochement," the Deputy Minister said.

According to Galuzin, it is certainly more comfortable to work in such an atmosphere than where Russophobia and distrust of Russian diplomats prevail.
