Russian pundit sees adventurists neither in Baku nor Yerevan
Chairman of the Presidium of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, political scientist Fyodor Lukyanov has said that there are adventurists neither in Yerevan nor Baku.
"I see no risk of a major conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It seems to me that, however strange it may sound, both sides have achieved what they wanted. Armenia got freedom from the uncertainty that it never managed to cope with. We are talking about the Karabakh issue. It is a drama for the people, but for the state it is still a question if we look at it in the long term," Lukyanov told Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
"Armenia and Azerbaijan have an extremely turbulent environment. Both the Middle East and the Middle East are at the side of both Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is not very reasonable to get involved in some kind of quarrel between them in this situation. I don't see any adventurists in either Yerevan or Baku. You can treat them any way you want, but they are people who have certain calculated models of behavior. According to these models, they do not need a conflict," the pundit noted.
