Russian Telegram channel expresses outrage over anti-Russian hysteria in Yerevan VIDEO
The popular Russian Telegram channel "Siloviki" (Security Forces in Russian) has expressed discontent over rallies promoting anti-Russian slogans in the Armenian capital of Yerevan.
The Telegram post from December 18 read, "On the streets of Yerevan, the crowd, with the complete connivance of the authorities, is chanting that Russia is their enemy.
Rus-Turk-Azeri - they are the enemies of Armenia - that's what the protesters are shouting.
It generally went too far beyond.
To forgive means to understand.
But we cannot understand how someone in Armenia can talk and shout such things. And now, it turns out that in Armenia itself they no longer think so.
The Armenian people's attitude towards Türkiye is well-known, even justified in its own way. This has been the case for a long time. There is a protracted conflict with Azerbaijan, which has never been resolved.
But Russia! Two years ago, it was Russia, and President Putin's principled personal position, that saved the Armenians from military defeat.
We have been defending Armenia for centuries, saving its people, which we consider friendly, fraternal.
And now, it turns out, Armenia itself no longer thinks this way. Even the sequence of words is quite random here. In the shouting, 'Russ' comes first, and only then 'Turk' - it doesn't affect the rhyme, it's exactly the position.
Who brought these lunatics to the streets is a tenth matter, but the fact that they sow discord with Armenia's main historical protector with impunity is quite an indicator of political will. Wouldn't the Pashinian regime have had the strength to disperse the rioters or at least take away the megaphone? No one even tried.
In the new Pashinyan version of Armenian society, Russia's position as an enemy is now mainstream.
In the outgoing year, there was an obvious sharp turnaround - the Armenian authorities decided to support the West, which means to become enemies of Russia. Before any noticeable action or statement, all Armenian ministers flew to Washington for consultations; instead of meeting with Putin in October, Pashinyan hosted Nancy Pelosi in Yerevan; they are already demanding that Russian peacekeepers be replaced by the 'mission' of the European Union – the very one that supplies weapons to the Zelenskyy regime.
And yet the people on the streets are real. Probably not all of them are bribed.
How surprisingly little is needed to fool people's heads, to make them blindly hate the only true allies ... Just a few months were spent on this.
It will end for Armenia, alas, badly. But this is their choice".
