Russian users report widespread Telegram outages for second day
Russian Telegram users are reporting widespread disruptions in the messaging app’s service for the second consecutive day.
According to the data from Downdetector, as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time on February 10, nearly 9,000 complaints had been logged within 24 hours, with roughly 1,000 new reports arriving each hour, Caliber.Az reports.
Users are experiencing issues such as photos and videos failing to load, slow channel access, and delayed message delivery, suggesting a widespread problem.
Complaints have been reported across Russia, with the highest concentration in the Magadan region (5%), the Yamalo-Nenets district (4%), the Samara region (3%), the Novosibirsk region (3%), and the Kirov region (2%).
Downdetector data indicates 17% of users had problems with the mobile app, 51% experienced a general service outage, 18% had notification issues, and 10% encountered website problems.
The cause of the ongoing disruption remains unknown, and Telegram representatives have not commented. No similar scale issues have been reported in other countries.
