State Committee discloses number of men, women victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan

During the first six months of 2023, some 34 men and 112 women who were subjected to domestic violence reached out to the "Support Hotline - 860" of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Problems, the committee’s Chairperson Bahar Muradova said.

She made the remarks at a briefing on the results of the first half of 2023, Report informs.

According to her, 23.3 per cent of the appeals were made by men and 76.7 per cent by women.

The plan of activities in connection with gender equality will be approved in the coming days, Muradova noted.

Muradova also emphasised that the draft document has already been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers and its approval is expected in the coming days.
