Suicide rates rise in Armenia
The number of suicides has increased in Armenia, Caliber.Az reports citing Yerevan-based Zhokhovurd newspaper.
Thus, according to the Armenian Statistical Committee, 281 people committed suicide in 2021, and 312 in 2022, and this year the number increased totaling 302 people.
According to recently published information, suicides in Armenia are mostly people aged 18-29. An example of this statistic is the fact that the last two suicides were committed by soldiers of the Armenian Armed Forces, who were subjected to bullying.
The newspaper writes that Armenian citizens most often commit suicide because of pressure from society or due to social problems.
According to the Armenian Statistical Committee, the majority of suicides are male, some of whom commit suicide in the Armed Forces.
