Top Turkish politicians congratulate Ilham Aliyev on his re-election

Top Turkish politicians have congratulated Azerbaijan's incumbent President Ilham Aliyev on getting re-elected.

The speaker of Türkiye's Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, has published a congratulatory message on the extraordinary presidential election in Azerbaijan and the re-election of President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.

"I congratulate Ilham Aliyev, who was re-elected as the head of state in the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan and wish him success in his work. I hope that the results of the election will benefit the friendly and brotherly people of Azerbaijan, with whom we are moving towards common goals based on the principle of 'one nation - two states'," the speaker of the Turkish parliament wrote on X platform.

Former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, head of the country's parliamentary delegation to NATO, also congratulated Ilham Aliyev.

"Congratulations to Ilham Aliyev for winning the presidential election, which was held with a high turnout in all regions of Azerbaijan, including the liberated Karabakh. Under his leadership, our Azerbaijani brothers will continue to achieve numerous victories," Çavuşoğlu wrote.

Joining the former minister was former Turkish presidential candidate Sinan Oğan, who also posted congratulations.

"Congratulations to Ilham Aliyev, who was re-elected as head of state in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan. I hope that the brotherly Azerbaijani people and the whole Turkic world will benefit from the results of these elections, which were held throughout Azerbaijan, including Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, which were liberated after 30 years of occupation," Oğan said.

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar also congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his victory in the snap presidential election.

"I cordially congratulate Mr Ilham Aliyev on his historic victory in the elections for the post of President of Azerbaijan, according to the preliminary results. I wish that the results of the election will serve for the benefit of all brotherly Azerbaijan," the post reads.
