Turkish Cabinet meeting to address Syria, minimum wage, other key issues
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to convene a meeting of his cabinet on December 23 in capital Ankara, which is expected to be the last such meeting until 2025.
The cabinet will discuss a range of critical topics, including domestic and foreign policy, the economy, the ongoing fight against terrorism, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
A significant part of the meeting will focus on Syria, with ministers reviewing new steps in response to the evolving situation in the country. The cabinet will consider measures to address the presence of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the region, and the planned diplomatic relations with the new Syrian administration, following Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s recent visit to Damascus, will be evaluated.
The safe return of Syrians to their homeland will also be a key point of discussion.
Economic matters will be another focal point, with the cabinet set to make decisions regarding the determination of a new minimum wage.
