Turkish defence minister, Azerbaijani ambassador discuss strengthening military ties
Turkish National Defence Minister Yasar Guler has held a meeting with Azerbaijani ambassador to Ankara Rashad Mammadov to review the ongoing military collaboration between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The sides discussed the current status and future potential of the defence partnership, as well as the broader strategic alliance between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani embassy in Türkiye.
Türkiye and Azerbaijan regularly conduct joint military exercises and training programs. These exercises aim to enhance interoperability and strengthen the operational capabilities of their armed forces. Notable exercises include large-scale drills involving both land and air forces.
Both countries have signed multiple defence agreements to formalise their cooperation. These agreements cover areas such as military training, technology transfer, and defence procurement.
Türkiye has provided Azerbaijan with a range of military equipment, including drones, armoured vehicles, and artillery.
The military cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is part of a broader strategic alliance. Both countries support each other’s geopolitical objectives and coordinate their policies on regional security issues.
The two countries are working on various defence projects, including the development of new military technologies and joint ventures in the defence industry.
