Turkish government to discuss salary, pension increase in country

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that a meeting of the Turkish Cabinet of Ministers has begun after a three-week break.

Salary increases for civil servants and pensioners for the second half of the year will be a priority issue on the meeting's agenda, according to TRT Haber.

The meeting will also discuss domestic and foreign policy developments, as well as the burning of the Quran in Sweden and preparations for the NATO leaders' summit with Erdogan, which will be held in Lithuania on July 11-12.

The Cabinet meeting also discussed street protests in France and Türkiye's counter-terrorism activities both at home and abroad.

President Erdogan will make a statement after the meeting.
