Turkish top diplomat accuses US, Western nations of pursuing deceptive policy in Syria VIDEO
Türkiye's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, has strongly criticised the United States and several Western nations for allegedly supporting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its Syrian offshoots, which he described as enemies of Türkiye, a NATO member.
The remarks came following Fidan’s discussions in Ankara with Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Hussein Abdallah al-Safadi, Caliber.Az reports, citing the page of the Foreign Ministry's social network X.
Speaking after the meeting, Fidan stated that certain European countries, and particularly the United States, covertly support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) — a group linked to the PKK — under the guise of fighting the Islamic State (ISIS).
He condemned this stance as contradictory, asserting that by backing the PKK and SDF, these nations were siding with organizations hostile to Türkiye's security.

“These actions mislead their own populations and the rest of the world,” Fidan remarked, referring to the Western narrative that presents support for the PKK as part of the global fight against ISIS.
"You are supporting the PKK and the SDF, which are enemies of Türkiye, a NATO ally," he added.
