Türkiye commences mass production of four homegrown missile systems.

Caliber.Az reports, citing the X page of SavunmaSanayiST.com.

The Defense Industry Agency recently held an event to formalize the agreement for the production of ground-based missile systems. In a strategic move, the decision was reached to commence large-scale manufacturing of the Tayfun (Typhoon), Sungur (Falcon), TRG(L)-230, and KaraOk (Black Arrow) missiles.

TAYFUN ballistic missile

Roketsan has developed TAYFUN, marking it as Türkiye's inaugural short-range ballistic missile, capable of reaching distances between 300 and 1,000 kilometers. The missile's primary objective is to engage with adversary's strategic targets. Several fundamental elements of the TAYFUN missile, including the engine, fuel, and navigation system, are the fruits of ROKETSAN's technological advancement.

SUNGUR MANPADS

The SUNGUR man-portable anti-aircraft missile system, developed by ROKETSAN, is almost an analogue of the missile for the Stinger MANPADS. The maximum range of a MANPADS missile is 8 km, height is 4 km. The missile head uses an Imagine Infra-Red (IIR) thermal imaging (infrared) homing system. The complex itself is classified as a fourth generation MANPADS. The SUNGUR missile is capable of hitting targets at an altitude of 4 to 4.5 kilometers.

KaraOK ATGM

KaraOK (Black Arrow) is a classic representative of 3rd generation anti-tank guided missiles. Their main feature is the ability to fire in the “fire and forget” mode. With the help of a homing system, the missile independently moves towards the specified target and hits it. According to the developers, similar to the American FGM-148 Javelin ATGM, KaraOK is capable of attacking a target in the least protected part - the upper projection.

The KaraOK ATGM consists of a disposable launch container with a diameter of 125 mm, a length of 110 cm and a weight of 16 kg. The missile is equipped with a tandem warhead and a hybrid two-stage rocket engine, which allows launches from enclosed spaces. The declared range is up to 2,500 m.

TRG(L)-230 missile

The TRG-230 missile delivers intense and effective firepower against high-priority targets at a range of 20-70 km thanks to its high accuracy and lethality.

The TRG-230 missile, using the K+ weapon system and the Multi-Mission Missile System (MMMS) developed by ROKETSAN, can be launched from various types of platforms with appropriate interfaces.
