A group of Ukrainian journalists in Azerbaijan has viewed the demining process in the liberated Aghdam District.
The journalists of 1+1 and Channel 5 TV channels, UNIAN news agency, UkraineNow and The Third Force websites were informed about mine traps and other explosive devices installed in Aghdam city and throughout the entire district by the Armenians, Report informs.
The completely destroyed Aghdam and all its villages are fuller of mines compared to other Azerbaijani districts liberated as a result of the 44-day second Karabakh war.
Ukrainian journalists filmed the work of sappers of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), as well as the special equipment and technology they are using. This video footage will form the basis of reports on the clearing process of Azerbaijani territories from mines.
The journalists saw mines and ammunition which were removed and defused. The mine disposal process by detonating was also demonstrated.
During the trip to the Aghdam district, the journalists visited the Alley of Martyrs of the first Karabakh war, or rather, what was left of it after the vandalism of the Armenians, who destroyed the graves of the fallen heroes.
The Ukrainian journalists saw the ruins of the once flourishing city left by the Armenians after 30 years of occupation and also reviewed the ongoing restoration work.
Earlier, Ukrainian journalists visited the Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Zangilan districts.
