US supports normalisation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations – OSCE permanent rep
US Permanent Representative to the OSCE Michael Carpenter has said that the US has repeatedly stated that it supports the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Over the past year, we have supported a number of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also made efforts to achieve a peace agreement that would normalize relations, and facilitate open communication and trade throughout the region, which we believe is in the interests of all countries in the South Caucasus," he said, according to Report.
Carpenter stressed that the US will continue supporting and making efforts to hold meetings between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Of course, the sides themselves should use these services or offers of mediation to support efforts to reach an agreement on normalization of relations, but we will continue doing our best,” he said.
