Azerbaijani ambassador proposes opening Baku-Cairo flight

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov advocated for establishing direct air links between Baku and Cairo during an interview with Egyptian publication Al-Ahram.

"According to 2023 statistics, only about 17,000 Azerbaijani citizens visited Egypt, and about 7,000 Egyptians visited Azerbaijan. We have a direct flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Baku, but we believe that a direct flight from Cairo to Baku will certainly increase the number of tourists," Caliber.Az quotes Polukhov as telling foreign media.

He emphasized that both countries boast deep, rich histories, beautiful nature, and unique cuisines, making them highly attractive to travelers.

A direct flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Baku has been operating since March 2023 and was previously operational in 2019.
