Armenian analyst advocates direct talks with Azerbaijan In achieving peace
Armenian political analyst Areg Kochinyan has said that Armenian needs to negotiate directly with Azerbaijan and Türkiye to achieve peace.
He made the remark in an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“I still say that we should negotiate directly with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. And you know, this is a bit of an interesting situation. On the one hand, we say that we must reduce the role of Russia, and we accuse this government of not reducing the role of Russia, at the same time we say that we have nothing to talk about with Azerbaijan and Turkey, but then with whom should we Is there anything to talk about?
"Political priorities call for talking directly to Azerbaijan, and this is the only opportunity to reduce Russia's influence in Armenia.
As for what about the peace folder? If you notice, I clearly explained exactly what I mean by a peace folder. In my opinion, it is economic projects that will allow us to work with our neighbours/opponents. After all, the first step to transforming any conflict is the formation of certain economic cooperation projects. And from the point of view of peace, we should make creative and solution-oriented proposals, and these proposals should be realisable," the political scientist said.
