Armenian blogger calls for stop to “famine” hoax in Karabakh

11 August 2023 10:16

Armenian blogger, activist Artur Osipyan called on Armenians to end attempts to fool the world and play cunning games about the falsified “famine” in Karabakh.

"Some people are saying that I gave an interview which, according to them, was not in our best interests. I have merely said that there is no famine in Karabakh. I am still saying that there are problems in Karabakh, the shops are mostly empty, but saying that it's famine and showing little children doesn't do us any honour. We want to say to the whole world: look at our situation and appreciate how difficult it is. While dong so we show our children as victims. This lie does not pass! This lie has the opposite effect and does us no honour.

There was a tragic case in Mardakert [Aghdara - ed.] and I sympathise with this family that lost two children. I wish them patience. But to say that these children died because of hunger is a shame. This very world sees Karabakh Facebook users celebrating weddings, cooking kebabs, and on the other hand, there are children dying of hunger? And how do you think they treat us? And in Karabakh, some of the restaurants are still working.

Do you know what my point is? Let's not try to fool the world and play cunning games. We cannot keep our secrets, but, as you can imagine, we will be able to present any lie in our own way," Osipyan wrote on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
