Armenian MP says losses statistics tragedy for army, country
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has described as a tragedy the losses in the Armenian army in the first half of August 2022.
He made the remarks on his Facebook account, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
"I am looking at the statistics of non–combat losses in the Armed Forces for the first half of August, which in itself is a huge tragedy for the army and the country. Five non-combat losses in 15 days," he wrote.
MP Abrahamyan notes in his commentary that two Karabakh separatists were eliminated during the Azerbaijani army's operation "Revenge". Tigran Abrahamyan also reports that in the first half of August, about 20 facts of injuries of Armenian servicemen, including non-combat ones, were recorded.
"On the night of August 3 to 4, a participant of the three-month training camps of an Armenian Defence Ministry military unit, reserve private Atom Razmikovich Harutyunyan (born in 1978) died suddenly in his sleep.
On August 7, an emergency occurred in the Gegharkunik region (Bashkend – ed.). At about 1600, the 911 Crisis Management Centre of the Emergencies Ministry's Rescue Service received a message that a citizen drowned while swimming in Lake Sevan in the administrative district of the village of Tsovak, Gegharkunik region.
Later it turned out that this citizen was a participant in three-month military training camps, under circumstances unknown until now, who was in the specified area at that time.
On August 7, contract serviceman Private Arshaluis Vramovich Hovhannisyan (born in 1976) died suddenly.
On August 9, the body of a conscript serviceman, Private Eric Armenovich Karsyan (born in 2003) with a gunshot wound to the chest was found at the firing position of a military unit located in the republic's north-eastern direction.
An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
On August 14, at about 15:20, the health condition of a contract serviceman of an Armenian Defence Ministry military unit, Private Manvel Myasnikovich Tadevosyan, deteriorated sharply. Despite immediate medical assistance, it was not possible to save the soldier's life.
A forensic medical examination has been appointed to clarify the causes of death," the Armenian MP writes.
