Armenians shell Azerbaijan’s Sharur Azerbaijani army takes retaliatory measures

Positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of Havush settlement of Sharur District, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, came under fire from small arms on September 4 at 11:20 by units of the Armenian Armed Forces, stationed in the opposite direction.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces took retaliatory measures, the Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

“Moreover, illegal Armenian armed formations on the Azerbaijani territory, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, attempted to dig new trenches to approach the positions of the Azerbaijani army in Khojavand District. As a result of urgent measures taken by the Azerbaijani army, digging was immediately stopped,” the message says.
