Azerbaijan affirms voting rights for Armenian-origin citizens in Khankandi

31 August 2024 15:26

Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), has addressed the participation of Armenian-origin citizens residing in Khankandi in upcoming elections, ensuring equal voting rights for all eligible voters.

At a press conference on August 31, Panahov clarified that the CEC is committed to non-discrimination in the electoral process, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“Azerbaijan provides equal conditions for all citizens,” he stated.

“We do not differentiate voters based on nationality. As long as individuals possess an Azerbaijani identity card and are registered in the voter lists, they are entitled to vote,” Panahov added.
