Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during a working visit to Gambia, met with his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammed Hasan Mahmud on May 4.

The sides emphasised during the meeting that high-level mutual visits, political dialogue and interdepartmental talks contribute to the development of cooperation, the Azerbaijani foreign ministry told Azertag.

Moreover, the ministers also noted the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral interaction to overcome current threats and challenges in modern conditions.

The sides also drew attention to the need to strengthen cooperation within international organisations and expressed confidence that partnership relations will continue strengthening in all spheres, including the economic, humanitarian and social spheres.

Moreover, the possible joint activity in such sectors as transport, healthcare, education, science and culture were discussed.

Bayramov emphasised that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29, which Azerbaijan will host this year, creates a favourable opportunity for new spheres of cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on topics of mutual interest during the meeting.
