Azerbaijan, Belgium agree on wind energy cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Belgium have reached an agreement on cooperation in wind energy, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has said.
“At the Brussels meeting of the Azerbaijan-EU Energy Dialogue, we discussed cooperation in the framework of our strategic energy partnership, the expansion of the SGC [Southern Gas Corridor], the EU's support for the development of the Green Energy Corridor, Energy Transition and Energy Efficiency,” Caliber.Az quotes the minister as tweeting on May 2.
The offshore wind energy roadmap published by Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry, the World Bank and IFC shows that Azerbaijan has the potential to install offshore wind farms with a total capacity of 7 GW by 2040. The potential for wind, solar and hydropower on the released land exceeds 10 GW. The total potential of the green energy generation capacity of Azerbaijan exceeds 200,000 MW.
